Thursday P.M.

After this morning's turn of events, today has been calm. Sam's inter cranial pressure remains high, but not as extreme as overnight. He is also running a fever and is in cooling blankets and pads to bring that down. The doctors have instructed that we should not talk in the room or touch Sam. Though he is sedated he still needs his sleep cycles and they want to avoid stimulation to his brain. Sam is no longer in a "drug induced coma" he is just "heavily sedated."

Stephanie, Cameron and the rest of the family are holding up well and appreciate the support.

We're all praying hard for you guys. Hopefully this is as bad as it gets and Sam just gets better from here on out. God be with you.

All our prayers are with you through this time. We are believing with you for little miracles every day. God is with you and holding Sam in his arms. With our love, Melissa Hatcher (mom to Lindy and Emily, WCS kids).

Hi Sam,

I hope you are having a long night with lots of sleep and no stimulation. Sounds like this is what the doctors ordered. I took Karyn and Alex on a surprise trip today to see Maui and the Big Island from above, but it is difficult to write about it and truly enjoying it while I know that you are not doing well at all. I hope to read some good news tomorrow morning. I emailed my sister in Germany today, she is a pastor in the Lutheran church and so is her (American) husband. As it is a common practice in German curches, she will put your name on the prayer's list.

Get better soon!

Hey, kid! Hope you're feeling better each day. Sounds like things are looking better and better, and that's just the news we're all hoping for! We took lots of pictures today and maybe we can bring some next time we see you so you can look at them. Wish you were here, but we'll see you very soon. Get lots of rest and keep those doctors and nurses in line! :-)

Alex was so glad to get the chance to write to you today. It was past his bedtime by the time we were able to get online last night, so he was really looking forward to getting online tonight and leaving you a message. He'll write more tomorrow again, I'm sure.

We'll keep checking to see how you're doing, and we'll be seeing you as soon as we're back home!

Sam,
We are praying for you and your family. We are praying for God's wisdom for the doctors and nurses taking care of you, God's peace for your family, and God's will and timing for your recovery. We are ready for you to be fully recovered now, but are waiting as patiently as we, and I am sure, your family can. You are so loved by so many people! never forget that! :)
Love Always,
