Move over sadness...

.... Make room for happiness, joy & gratitude!

It's Thursday morning and Cameron and I just finished our "shift" and turned it over to Stephanie.

It was a very good night. Sam is talking a bit, has a sense of humor, and, through it all, remembers his "please" and "thank yous"!

He was quite impressed that there are over 2,000 hits on this blog; he gave a big thumbs up when he learned that all his nurses have been very cute; and he remembers going to the flugtag with Uncle Patton, cousin Amanda and me the day before the accident.

He continues to have trouble coordinating and performing commands with his right arm and hand, but all other extremities seem to be working well. He struggles quite a bit to get comfortable in bed but also doesn't complain about it.

He has enjoyed the "lollipops" of sprite and says "I love you"!

We ask for your prayers of thanksgiving for the progress that Sam has made and your continued prayers that the road ahead improves with each new day.

We are all so thankful that God keeps his promises! As I read this post, I breathe a sigh of relief and pray a prayer of thanks. I know he will have a long road of recovery still ahead--but just remember that God will never give Sam more than he can bear and He loves you all very much.

Dear Stephanie, Cameron and Sam's very supportive extended family

We're so thankful Sam is improving. My niece suffered a severe head injury 11 years ago, and judging from what you have described about Sam, he is way ahead of where my niece was at that point. She didn't know us for weeks, although she eventually did (and she is doing well). This journey you're on has many ups and downs, but, the up times are results of a direct touch from God. Give Sam a thumbs up!!! Rick Barb and Ellyn

Praise God!
Your daily vigilance and positive support for Sam is so amazing! I have said multiple daily prayers for Sam's recovery and for all of you who stay by his side. It is so great to hear he is strong enough breathe on his own now. Your blog updates are so informative to us in the "outside world".
We are all so grateful to hear Sam's recent progress in communicating and expressing emotion to all of you. Our kids and Sam's good friends are all very anxious to visit him when you allow them to come. He has a world full of Guardian Angels out here just waiting for him to come home healthy.
