So, sam is out of surgery and doing well. They were able to get him into surgery really quickly. The procedure consisted of removing the left side of his skull to allow the brain to continue to swell without being impeded by the skull and also to decrease the pressure. Just about 10 minutes ago he was wheeled by us out of surgery to his room and stuff to get hooked back up. The Surgeon's Nurse in the OR came by and asked us if we believe in God and of course we immediately said yes and she said that it was back in God's hands again but that she thinks that he will make a good recovery and even though he is not out of the woods yet that they are confident that he will get better.
And about 3 minutes ago he was again wheeled by us again to be taken down for another cat scan but he anesthesist said that he did really well while in surgery and his vitals were really rock solid but although he isn't out of the woods, the doctor is sure that he is gonna do very well.
Keep praying cause it really is helping, and we were told that it may have to get worse before it gets better and we hope that this is as bad as it gets and he will just get better.
Pray pray pray

Cameron, thanks for keeping all of us posted.
The good news is that Sam is, and always was, in God's Hands!
Stephanie, I know you're feeling overwhelmed right now but remember there is only one who loves Sam more than you! Lean on Him for your strength - but also remember there are a lot of shoulders out here that are ready for you to lean on and lots of arms hugging you and your family!

Cameron thank you for the updates. You are simply an awesome brother. We love you guys and sending prayers. Give your mom a big hug from us. love you sweetie trace, dave and kids
It's hard to know what to say. Of course, all the "usual" things have been said. How about this? Sam, your Aunt Dart tells me you'd like a T-shirt, a new puka shell necklace, and some Kona coffee from Hawaii! We'll be making a shopping trip especiall for you. Your aunt says that Cam reads you these posts, so I'm counting on some really good toe wiggles when you hear about the Hawaiian coffee you'll be getting. I'd cook for you, but as everyone in the family seems to know, I really can't cook. You wouldn't want that--trust me! So, if you wake up before we're on the plane back home, just let your mom or Aunty Dart or someone else know what you'd like us to bring you. That gives you about a week! I know you're a strong kid, and we'll be coming to the hospital to see you when we get back to bring you your goodies. It would be great to see that grin of yours when we get there, but take your time and get better. There'll be some cool stuff waiting for you when you do. (continued)
Hi Cameron,
Your posts sound very encouraging and I hope you can report some more progress very soon. Every little thing of progress is progress.
I know it must have been hard for you to hear the bad news being so many thousands of miles away, at a very special venue for a very special purpose. Life, sometimes, crosses your plans, believe me I have been there and experienced it myself.
You need a lot of strength and you have a lot of family around you to give you the support you need.
Believe me all you can do is believe in the strength of your brother and your very being there. He needs you now as he needs your Mom first and foremost.
I hope you have more good news tomorrow, and keep your heads up
Me, again! Bernd is writing to you on his computer right now, so you'll be getting a post from him as well.
Your cousin Alex was really wanting to send you his well-wishes tonight, but by the time we could get online, it was past his bedtime, so he'll give it a shot tomorrow night. He's sending his prayers for you, though, and he wants to come with me to visit when we get back. I know he can't see you just yet, but he really wants to be there, so you may hear him (you know how he likes to talk!) but not see him for a while longer.
Hey, Sam, we saw the coolest lizard tonight crawling along on the ceiling on our lanai. You'd have liked this little guy. Really tiny--about 3 inches long. He was looking for dinner, but he just kept eyeing this one bug and never did catch him. Reminds me of when the had those big huge lizards in Carmen del Playa. Did you get to see one of them? They were really cool.
Hang in there and get better soon! We'll write more tomorrow.
Love, Aunt Karyn and Cousin Alex
